The Sheykh Obeyd Foundation International

SOFI is the established parent organization for breeders and owners of Sheykh Obeyd Arabians world-wide. We warmly invite you to explore this website in order to learn more about this unique group of Arabians which represents the very core of Egyptian Arabian bloodstock. A rare and relatively small group of horses, Sheykh Obeyd Arabians have been so qualified by SOFI as a result of their exclusive decent from only 66 original foundation horses, and have been designated as a unique subset within the AHA Data Source. Each of the 66 foundation horses of SOFI were personally authenticated by seven of the most passionate purist breeders of the "Golden Age" of breeding in Egypt. Due to their remarkable genetic concentration, today's Sheykh Obeyd Arabians offer a very rich and highly reliable resource for modern breeders of all bloodlines.
