Ak Khamsa NOTES: The above information is from Ferida's
entry in Weathergy's General Stud Book Vol. XVII p. 808.
However, Archer et al: The Crabbet Arabian Stud, pl 96, and
Upton: Desert Heritage, p. 123, and The Arab Horse, p. 154,
all said to be based on access to records of the Blunts,
give Ferida as a Mu'niqiyah- Hadrujiyah of Ibn Sbaili--or a Mu'niqiyah-Sbailiyah--bred by the Shammar and purchased from them by Mohammed Khuddr Jemal ed Din. The Desert Heritage entry shows the purchase date erroneously as 1896, but this is corrected in The Arab Horse. Entry #2712 in Carl Raswan's Index shows the same information as the GSB entry.
